Fundraising Update- Quiz Night and Tea Towels

Thanks to everyone who attended and supported this year’s Quiz night. We ended up with a profit of just under $4,000 and this money will be put towards a large shade umbrella in the outdoor area. Our ticket sales accounted for roughly half of the money raised and the rest was made on the night through games, a raffle and auction. John Morillo from Jellis Craig, Kensington was our auctioneer and did a great job raising $1,185 from 12 auction lots. He also generously donated $500 to the kinder on the night.

I’d like to thank everyone who made the Quiz night possible:

Fundraising update- Bunnings BBQ and Caring for Kids raffle

Thank you to everybody who volunteered at the Bunnings’ BBQ last month.  We’re very grateful for all the help we received and are very pleased to announce that we raised over $1,300.

We’ve also been notified of the final results of the Caring for Kids raffle held earlier in the year and we raised $940 for the kindergarten.  A big thank you to Fiona Macri for organising this again this year and thank you to everyone for the great effort buying and selling tickets. We finished in the top 20 ticket sellers this year!  Unfortunately we didn’t sell the winning ticket, but it was sold close to home with Progress Kindergarten taking the honour. Fundraising Update- Cake Stall

Thank you to everybody who contributed to the success of the Cake Stall that was recently held at Flemington Farmers Market.  We are pleased to announce that we raised $875 as a result everyone’s efforts. These funds will be allocated to purchase new equipment for the sandpit. Our next fundraising event is a Bunnings BBQ to be held at the Maribyrnong store on Saturday 23rd of July 2016.  We’ll be looking for volunteers in the coming weeks to help cook and sell sausages on the day, so if baking wasn’t your thing, this might be the fundraising event for you!

Fundraising Update- Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

The sausage sizzle we held at Bunnings in West Footscray on Saturday 7 th November was a success with us raising $857. We had a steady stream of satisfied customers over the day, despite the rain and races traffic. A very big thank you to our kinder helpers on the day; Julie-Anne, Tomas, Lincoln, Jonathan, Fiona, Melinda, Janine and Shane. It was great to raise the profile of Ascot Kinder amongst the community and raise more funds for the learning and development of our kinder children. This money has been put towards purchasing 2 prams, a basketball ring and a clear tunnel.

Jellis Craig Sponsorship update and help needed

Jellis Craig

The Ascot Kindergarten is fortunate to have the generous sponsorship of Jellis Craig. Recently a kinder family used Jellis Craig to sell their property, and Jellis Craig fulfilled their promise to donate $250 to the kinder. These funds will go towards purchasing an iPod and bluetooth speaker for the kinder room. Thank you!

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

We will be holding a sausage sizzle at Bunnings Footscray on Saturday 7 November 2015. (Note the date change from previously). Please mark it in your diaries. We are seeking volunteers to help on the day and a roster will be set up soon.

We had a fantastic show of support for Ascot Kindergarten with nearly 1000 tickets sold, raising just under $2000. The fundraising committee held three separate stalls in the plaza of Moonee Ponds Central and outside Newmarket train station, which not only helped raise valuable funds, but generated great community support and awareness of our kinder. Thanks to those members of the fundraising committee and kinder committee, and their partners, who took time from their weekends to help on the stalls.
We also want to express a big thank you to all those kinder families who were busy selling tickets to their family and friends, and generously buying tickets themselves.

Proceeds from recent fundraising events have already contributed towards a number of items recently purchased for the children at kinder, including Lego, bikes and a new stove for the home corner. Raffle funds will go towards more new tables and chairs and other items on the kinder wish list, to enhance the kinder experience for our children.

We would like to acknowledge the generous contribution of those who donated prizes; Diesel, Illuminati Hair and Beauty, Chemist Warehouse Ascot Vale, Pepper Café, Italia family, Officeworks Travancore, Sticky Beaks, Pauline Maree, Kids with Class, Beaumont family, Dan Murphy’s Ascot Vale, Infinity Fitness Moonee Ponds, The Golden Tree, Airoart Hand Stamped Jewellery, Phat Milk café, Fresh on Young, Sugar Beat café.
Also, thanks to Jeremy Beaumont from Green Scribble for designing the flyers and raffle tickets, and Daniel Smith from Advent Print Media for the printing. They looked fantastic.

Our next fundraising event will be a Trivia Night on Friday October 16. It plans to be a fun night, hosted by a celebrity quiz master. Mark it in your diaries and start gathering together your teams of friends and family. More details to follow soon.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for future fundraising events, please let us know.

Fundraising update- Cake stall

The kinder cake stall at the Flemington Farmer’s Market on Sunday 31 May was a huge success. We had an overwhelming contribution of delicious treats, lovingly baked by our talented kinder parents and their children. The rain held off and we had a steady stream of shoppers throughout the day. The high calibre of baked goods and their beautiful packaging enabled us to raise $965. Thanks to all the kinder families that visited the stall and bought our yummy treats.

A big thank you to all those who baked and a special thank you to those who helped on the stall on the day; Luisa Smith, Melinda Rolfe (and Thomas), Julie-Ann Carbon, Emily Ramage, Monique Damasco, Amelia Moore, Karen Hellwig, Cathie Staunton, Lucy Shaw, Tracey Williamson, Natasha Noonan, Fiona Macri, Daria Butters and Shari.

Kinder Raffle Tickets for the annual kinder raffle also went on sale at the cake stall which proved popular and raised a further $140 on the day.
